Multi-engine training

Adding a multi-engine rating can be done easily and there are no written knowledge tests to complete assuming you already have a current FAA licence. We generally conduct training on the pilot's own aircraft or, if required, we can arrange for the hire of a Diamond DA42 Twin Star. The flight test is conducted here in the UK.

What's involved?

The training will cover general handling and asymmetric flight together with engine failures after take off, in the cruise and on descent. In addition ground school / flight briefings will cover multi-engine aerodynamics, flight on single engine, critical engine failure, minimum control speeds (Vmc), best climb speed on single engine (Blue Line) and other practical operational tips.

If you hold a current instrument rating and you want to transfer this across to a multi-engine aircraft then you must also train for, and be tested on, instrument approaches in normal and engine out configurations.

Whatever training you require we provide careful instruction in a friendly and professional manner. We can usually accommodate a location and timescale to suit you. Whatever you need we'll do our best to get it done for you.
